11:49 AM EST - Buhler Industries Inc. : announced that its second-quarter net earnings increased to $4.6 million or $0.18 per share, from $3.2 million or $0.13 per share in the previous year. Second-quarter revenue increased 85 per cent to $93.4 million from $50.6 million in the year-ago quarter. For the six-month period ended March 31, 2009, net earnings increased to $9.0 million or $0.36 per share, from $4.4 million or $0.18 per share last year. Revenue for six months was $150.4 million, up 81 per cent from $83 million in the prior year. Record sales in 2009 are expected despite the current global economic crisis. Sales of short-line equipment continue to be strong, however a decline in tractor sales is anticipated for the remaining part of the year. Buhler Industries Inc.
