11:37 AM EST - Garda World Security Corp. : announced financial results for the first quarter, posting net income of $2.5 million or $0.08 per share, compared to $4.5 million or $0.14 per share in the prior-year period. Revenues increased 5.9 per cent to $279.2 million from $263.6 million in the same period last year. The company said the increase in revenues results mainly from the strengthening of the U.S. dollar in relation to the Canadian dollar between first quarter 2009 and first quarter 2010 and a decrease of six per cent in the revenues generated by the U.S. cash logistics operations.
