03:56 PM EST - Transcontinental Inc. : announced that its second-quarter net loss was $144.3 million or $1.79 per share, compared to net income of $36.9 million or $0.45 per share in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted net income for the quarter declined to $30.2 million or $0.37 per share, from $34.1 million or C$0.42 per share in the year-ago quarter. Consolidated revenues for the quarter were $563.4 million, down five per cent from $595.1 million in the second quarter of 2008. At its June 11, 2009 meeting, the Corporation's Board of Directors maintained the quarterly dividend of $0.08 per share on Class A Subordinate Voting Shares and Class B Shares. These dividends are payable on July 24, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business on July 6, 2009. On an annual basis, this represents a dividend of $0.32 per share.
