11:44 AM EST - Saputo Inc. : has agreed to buy the activities of F&A Dairy of California, Inc. F&A manufactures, sells and distributes, principally mozzarella, provolone and whey products from its facility in Newman, California, where it employs 113 employees. For the year ended December 31, 2008, it produced about 60 million pounds of cheese and had sales of about $140 million U.S. Saputo said the acquisition will be paid in cash by drawing on available lines of credit. The deal is expected to close on or about July 20. The transaction will complement the activities of Saputo Dairy Products Division (USA). Saputo Inc.
shares T.SAP are trading up $0.28 at $23.39.
