09:46 AM EST - The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc. : reported a first-quarter profit of $10.3 million or $0.04 per share versus a loss of $20.2 million or $0.08 per share in the prior-year period. Earnings before specific items were $7.6 million or $0.03 per share compared with a loss of $20.2 million or $0.08 per share last year. First-quarter revenues rose to $619.3 million from $574.3 million in the comparable period. On a same-store basis, PJC network retail sales grew 3.9%, pharmacy sales gained 5.7% and front-end sales increased 1.2% compared with the same period last year. The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc.
