11:50 AM EST - Canwest Global Communications Corp. : said its third-quarter net loss widened to $110 million or $0.62 per share from $28 million or $0.16 per share in the prior-year period. The latest quarter results included a non-cash $247-million impairment of goodwill in Canwest's Publishing operations, interest rate and foreign currency swap losses of $177 million and foreign exchange gains of $368 million primarily related to the foreign currency gains associated with the U.S. dollar debt that is no longer hedged. Adjusted net loss for the quarter was $57 million or $0.32 per share versus a profit of $12 million or $0.07 per share in the year-ago period. Canwest Global Communications Corp.
