03:53 PM EST - TransAlta Corp. : reported a comparable loss for the second quarter of 2009 of $6 million, or $0.03 per share versus comparable earnings of $49 million or $0.25 per share for the same period in 2008. The net loss for the quarter was $6 million or $0.03 per share, compared to net earnings of $47 million or $0.24 per share in the second quarter of 2008. Revenue declined to $585 million from $708 million in the comparable period a year ago. TransAlta Corp.
