10:57 AM EST - Bank of Nova Scotia : said it will buy a 10 percent stake in First BanCorp of Puerto Rico for about $94.8 million, and will have some exclusive negotiating rights to buy the remainder. First BanCorp, a holding company with commercial banking and insurance units active in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Florida, said it would issue about 9.3 million shares to Toronto-based Scotiabank at $10.25 each in a private placement.
