09:41 AM EST - Air Canada : announced that its second-quarter net income was $155 million or $1.55 per share, compared to net income of $122 million or $1.22 per share in the second quarter of 2008. The carrier reported an operating loss of $113 million for the second quarter of 2009 compared to operating income of $7 million in the second quarter of 2008. Passenger revenues decreased $396 million or 16% to $2.06 billion from the second quarter of 2008, reflecting a weakened demand for air travel and lower prices. Operating revenues for the quarter were $2.33 billion, compared to $2.78 billion in the prior year quarter. Air Canada
