09:42 AM EST - Telus Corp. : reported second-quarter net income of $244 million or $0.77 per basic share, compared to $268 million or $0.83 per basic share in the same quarter of last year. Net income and EPS this quarter included favourable income tax-related adjustments of approximately $19 million or six cents per share, respectively. Excluding the income tax-related adjustments, net income and EPS were down 16% and 14%, respectively. Operating revenues for the quarter were $2.38 billion, compared to $2.40 billion in the prior-year quarter. The company said that its board has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.475 per share on the issued and outstanding Common shares and $0.475 Canadian per share on the issued and outstanding Non-Voting shares of the Company payable on October 1, 2009 to holders of record at the close of business on September 10, 2009.
