09:53 AM EST - MDS, Inc. : reported a third-quarter net loss of $62 million U.S. or $0.51 U.S. per share, compared to a net loss of $10 million U.S. or $0.08 U.S. per share for the same period last year. Current quarter results include non-cash write-downs for goodwill and fixed assets of US$37 million and $7 million U.S., of which $12 million U.S. was reported in discontinued operations. Net loss from continuing operations for the quarter was $48 million U.S. or a loss per share of $0.40 U.S. per share, compared to a net loss of $5 million U.S. or a loss per share of $0.04 U.S. in 2008.
