12:08 PM EST - Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce : reported a 33 percent rise in first-quarter profit on Thursday, helped by stronger retail banking and capital markets income. Canada's fifth-biggest bank by assets said net income was $770 million, or $2.11 a share, for the three months ended January 31. That compared with earnings of $580 million, or $1.62 a share, in the same period a year earlier. The bank also said it was raising its quarterly dividend to 77 cents per share.
