11:57 AM EST - EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. : said Monday that it now expects GAAP net earnings for the first quarter to be $0.00 U.S. to $0.01 U.S. per share. Previously, the company forecast a GAAP net loss of $0.06 U.S. to $0.02 U.S. per share for the first quarter, partially based on an anticipated pre-tax, foreign exchange loss of $0.03 U.S. per share to account for the significant weakness of the U.S. dollar in days preceding the issuing of company guidance on October 13. EXFO also said that it now expects first revenues to be in the range of $45 to $46 million U.S., slightly above its prior guidance of $40 to $45 million U.S., due to stronger bookings than expected.
