Net income available to common shareholders was $962 million, compared to $991 million in the year-ago quarter. Earnings were $1.12 per share, compared to $1.22 per share in the same quarter a year ago. Adjusted net income was $1.3 billion or $1.46 per share, compared with $665 million or $0.79 per share in the same quarter last year.
