11:02 AM EST - Empire Company Ltd. : announced that its third quarter net earnings of $35.1 million or $0.53 per share compared to net earnings of $56.0 million $0.85 per share in the same quarter last year. Earnings before capital gain and other items for the quarter were $36.1 million or $0.54 per share, compared to $47.7 million or $0.72 per share in the same quarter prior year. Sales rose 1.4% to $3.28 billion, from $3.24 billion in the year ago quarter. Empire Company Ltd.
