03:50 PM EST - Guyana Goldfields Inc. : announced that it has closed its short form prospectus offering pursuant to which the company has issued 10 million common shares at $6.95 per share to raise aggregate gross proceeds of $69.5 million. The company has also granted to the underwriters an option to purchase up to 1.5 million additional common shares within 30 days following closing to cover over-allotments, if any, and for market stabilization purposes. The company will use the net proceeds to further the definitive feasibility study undertaken by AMEC, Canada, to continue exploration of the company's Aurora and Aranka properties in Guyana, South America, and for general corporate purposes.
