11:46 AM EST - Torstar Corp. : said its fourth-quarter net income was $57.35 million or $0.73 per share compared with a loss of $213.92 million or $2.71 per share in the same period last year. Excluding the impact of impairment losses and investment writedowns related to associated businesses, net income for the recent quarter grew to $59.7 million or $0.76 per share from $22.3 million or $0.28 per share in 2008, the company said. Operating revenue was $394.78 million in the quarter, down $17.6 million or 4.3% from $412.35 million the fourth quarter of 2008. Torstar Corp.
