11:38 AM EST - Emera Inc. : announced that it one of its subsidiaries, BHE Holdings Inc., has entered into a merger agreement with Maine & Maritimes Corp. The transaction is expected to be accretive to Emera within the first year. Under the deal terms, all outstanding common shares of MAM would be purchased for $45.00 U.S. per share in cash, representing over a 40% premium based on MAM's closing share price on Thursday, March 11, the last trading day prior to the announcement of the proposed merger and MAM would become a wholly-owned unit of Emera, the company added.
