03:45 PM EST - Alliance Grain Traders Inc. : reported that fourth-quarter net income was higher by 87% to $15.2 million or $0.87 per common share/unit from $8.1 million or $0.89 per unit in the prior year quarter. Quarterly Sales rose 53% to $154.8 million from $100.9 million in the year-ago quarter. For 2009, net income was $29.9 million, up 35% compared to $22.2 million in 2008. This translated into $2.74 per common share/unit on a diluted basis for 2009 compared to $2.91 on a diluted basis in the prior year.
