03:56 PM EST - Manulife Financial Corp. : reported first-quarter net income attributed to shareholders was $1.14 billion versus a loss of $1.07 billion last year. Net income available to common shareholders amounted to $1.12 billion as against a loss of $1.07 billion a year ago. Earnings per common share for the latest quarter were $0.64 compared with a loss of $0.67 in the previous year. The first quarter's adjusted earnings from operations were $742 million. First-quarter total revenues grew to $9.16 billion from $8 billion in the year-ago period. Manulife Financial Corp.
