10:04 AM EST - Canadian Tire Corp. : said its first-quarter net earnings slightly decreased to $49.4 million from $49.7 million last year. However, earnings per share remained flat at $0.61. Adjusted net earnings, excluding non-operating gains and losses, for the quarter increased 4% to $51.5 million from $49.6 million a year ago. Adjusted basic earnings per share rose to $0.63 from $0.61 last year. CTC retail sales for the first quarter of 2010 increased 5.7% to $1.89 billion from $1.79 billion in the previous year.
