Net income available to common to shareholders rose to $1.128 billion, from $504 million in the year-ago quarter. Reported earnings per share were $1.30, compared with $0.59 last year. Adjusted net income was $1.234 billion, up from $1.016 billion in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted earnings per share rose to $1.36, from $1.14 in the prior-year quarter.
