12:14 PM EST - Leading Brands Inc. : turned a profit in its most recent quarter, compared with a loss a year ago, as revenue grew nearly 40 percent. The Vancouver-based beverage maker, which reports its results in U.S. dollars, said it earned $320,000 or two cents per share for the three months ended Aug. 31. That compared with a loss of $158,000 or one cent per share in the same period last year. Quarterly revenue grew to $15.7 million, up from $11.4 million in the second quarter of its 2005 financial year. Leading Brands Inc.
