12:16 PM EST - Barrick Gold Corp. : has signed a US$250-million deal to acquire Emperor Mines Ltd.'s stake in the Porgera mine in Papua New Guinea, which would raise Barrick's holding to 95 percent. Toronto-based Barrick said Thursday it will be entitled to economic benefit of the 20 percent interest in Porgera, as of April 1. Barrick Gold Corp.
shares T.ABX are trading off 9 cents at $32.88.
