03:48 PM EST - TransCanada Corp. : announced net income applicable to common shares for second quarter was $285 million or $0.41 per share compared to $314 million or $0.50 per share in the same quarter last year. Net income for the second quarter decreased $0.05 per share as a result of a 10% increase in the average number of common shares outstanding following a 58.4 million common share issuance in second quarter last year. The Calgary-based company's revenues for the latest quarter slipped to $1.92 billion from $1.98 billion in the year-ago quarter. TransCanada Corp.
