03:36 PM EST - BCE Inc. : said its second-quarter net earnings applicable to common shares rose to $590 million or $0.78 per share from $346 million or $0.45 per share a year ago. On an adjusted basis, net earnings improved to $581 million or $0.77 per share from $447 million or $0.58 per share a year earlier. BCE's operating revenues for the latest quarter improved 3.3% to $4.44 billion from $4.30 billion in the comparable period. BCE Inc.
