03:52 PM EST - Brigus Gold Corp. : Monday reported a wider loss for the second quarter, despite a surge in revenues, reflecting change in fair value of the outstanding gold forward sales contracts. The company's second quarter net loss was $19.7 million, wider than $7.2 million a year earlier. On a per share basis, loss widened to $0.23 from $0.12 recorded a year ago. Latest quarter results included a non-cash, unrealized loss of $23.9 million on derivative instruments related mainly to the change in fair value of the outstanding gold forward sales contracts. Revenues from sale of minerals surged to $22.2 million from $4.7 million last year. The company sold 18,430 ounces of gold at total cash costs of $448 per ounce for the quarter. Brigus Gold Corp.
