10:06 AM EST - TransCanada Corp. : has reported first-quarter net profits of $265 million or 52 cents per share, compared with $273 million or 56 cents per share in the year-earlier period. The Calgary-based pipeline and power company said Friday that earnings from continuing operations rose to $265 million from $245 million. Net cash provided by operations rose to $618 million from $515 million, the company reported ahead of its annual meeting in Calgary. TransCanada Corp.
shares T.TRP are trading down 31 cents at $39.68.
