10:02 AM EST - Thomson Corp. : has agreed to sell its educational publishing division to a consortium of private equity funds advised by Apax Partners and OMERS Capital Partners for US$7.75 billion. The amount of the deal announced Friday was substantially higher than the $5 billion the major electronic information company had initially said its international publishing business was worth.
