03:42 PM EST - Stratic Energy Corp. : reported its first commercial gas sales from its offshore project in the Black Sea. The gas production in the south Akcakoca sub-basin is a joint venture with TPAO, the Turkish national oil company, and development operator Toreador Resources Corp. The production is the first ever from the Turkish Black Sea and adds significantly to the country's domestic production of natural gas. Initial production is from three wells on the Akkaya platform off Turkey, the company said. Full production is expected over the next few months as two remaining platforms in the first phase of development are brought on stream, it said. Once that happens, Toreador estimates production will be 50 million standard cubic feet per day, of which Stratic's share would be 12.25 per cent. Kevin Watts, Stratic's CEO, called the gas sales an "important milestone" for the junior oil and gas company. Stratic Energy Corp.
