12:18 PM EST - Van Houtte Inc. : said on Thursday that fourth-quarter profit jumped 60 percent as results were lifted by one-time gains. The company, which agreed last month to a takeover offer from US private equity firm Littlejohn & Co., earned $10.3 million, or 48 cents a share, including unusual items. That compares with a profit of $6.46 million, or 30 cents a share, a year earlier. Van Houtte Inc.
