11:46 AM EST - Heroux-Devtek Inc. : reported that it is teaming with Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. to develop and produce landing gear for the CH-53K heavy lift helicopter program for the U.S. Marines. The Canadian aerospace and industrial products maker's work for the helicopter subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. entails designing, developing, and delivering the helicopter's landing gear and tail bumper. The financial terms of this systems design and development phase work were not disclosed Monday, but Heroux-Devtek said revenue including eventual production of 156 units - to be awarded in a separate contract - would be worth US$95 million. "The fact that Heroux-Devtek has been selected by Sikorsky to participate in the development phase of this important program is a sign of confidence in our expertise and our ability to deliver on the most complex assignments," stated Martin Brassard, general manager of the company's landing gear division.
