12:31 PM EST - Empire Co. Ltd. : said on Monday that Sobeys will acquire British Columbia-based Thrifty Foods in a deal with an enterprise value of $260 million. Sobeys, a unit of Empire Co. Ltd., said Thrifty will operate as a separate division. The deal is expected to close in Sobeys' second quarter. Empire Co. Ltd.
shares T.EMP.A are trading up 96 cents at $50.73.
