12:11 PM EST - First Quantum Minerals Ltd. : started commercial production at its Guelb Moghrein copper and gold mine in Mauritania on Oct. 5. The mine is operating at 66 percent of its design capacity, producing about 1,650 metric tons a month of copper contained in concentrate, a raw material shipped to smelters, the Vancouver- based company said in a Regulatory News Service statement today.
