11:01 AM EST - TransCanada Corp. : has reported a 5 percent increase in second-quarter profit on a 31 percent revenue increase powered by an acquisition and higher rates on its gas mainline. TransCanada said Friday its revenue was $2.21 billion in the three months ended June 30, up from $1.69 billion a year earlier. Net income of $257 million, 48 cents per share, compared with $244 million, 50 cents per share. TransCanada Corp.
shares T.TRP are trading off 18 cents at $38.14.
