12:01 PM EST - TransAlta Corp. : Canada's biggest investor-owned electricity producer, said on Friday that second-quarter net profit fell 34 percent on a $26 million mark-to-market loss and without last year's lift from a hefty gain from lower tax rates. The company said net income in the quarter was $57.2 million, or 28 cents a share, for the quarter, down from $86.4 million, or 43 cents a share in the second quarter 2006. TransAlta Corp.
shares T.TA are trading up 70 cents at $30.46.
