10:33 AM EST - BCE Inc. : reported a higher second-quarter profit on Wednesday helped in part by a gain from its Bell Aliant unit's sale of Aliant Directory Services and a favorable tax settlement. BCE, Canada's biggest communications company, said it had earned $667 million, or 83 cents per share, compared with $494 million, or 53 cents a share, a year earlier. BCE Inc.
shares T.BCE are trading off 43 cents at $39.85.
