12:01 PM EST - SNC-Lavalin Group : reported a bigger second-quarter profit on Friday due mainly to higher operating income at its chemicals and petroleum and mining and metallurgy segments. The Canadian engineering company said it earned $41.1 million, or 27 cents a share, for the period ended June 30, up from $38.4 million, or 25 cents a share, for the same quarter last year.
