10:01 AM EST - First Quantum Minerals : said on Thursday its second-quarter profit fell 18 percent, due to lower production from the company's Bwana/Lonshi mining operations in central Africa. First Quantum, a Vancouver, British Columbia-based copper manufacturer, earned $123.1 million, or $1.79 per share, down from $149.5 million, or $2.27 per share, in the year-before period.
