Oil futures lost more ground on Wednesday after the U.S. Energy Information Administration said crude stockpiles rose 1.7 million barrels for the week ended June 20.
Analysts polled by Platts forecast a decline of two million barrels. Gasoline supplies climbed by 700,000 barrels, while distillate stockpiles rose 1.2 million barrels, according to the EIA.
The Platts poll also said gasoline stockpiles were expected to climb by two million barrels, while distillates, which include heating oil, were seen up one million barrels.
