Ontario-based utility Hydro One (TSX:H) has named David Lebeter as its new president and chief executive officer (CEO).
Lebeter had previously served as Hydro One’s chief operating officer (COO). He will assume the CEO role on February 1 of this year.
Lebeter takes over from interim CEO William Sheffield, who stepped into the interim role last year after permanent CEO Mark Poweska left the company.
Before joining Hydro One, Lebeter held senior positions at BC Hydro from 2005 to 2019.
Lebeter will be the third permanent CEO at Hydro One in the last five years. The Ottawa-based utility has experienced widespread complaints about its service and pricing in recent years.
