U.S. gold eases as preholiday market thins trade

U.S. gold futures eased on Friday, mainly from lack of interest as many players prepared
for a long U.S. holiday weekend, lessening volume now that contract rollovers out of June are nearly complete.

Benchmark U.S. gold futures for August delivery on the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange fell $6.90 to $1,207.50 U.S. an ounce.
