2 Beer and Wine Stocks I’m Looking to Snag Today

The COVID-19 pandemic has weighed heavily on Canadian citizens. This challenging period has inspired changing habits among the population. A Statistics Canada report released in early March 2021 looked at alcohol consumption habits since the start of the pandemic. About 18% of respondents said they drank five drinks or more on the days they consumed alcohol. This is compared to 11% of Canadians who reported that same frequency in 2017.

Molson Coors Canada (TSX:TPX.B)(NYSE:TAP) is one of the largest brewers on the planet. Its notable brands include Carling, Blue Moon, Miller Lite, Steel Reserve, and many others. Shares of Molson Coors have climbed 4.8% in 2021 as of close on September 29.

In Q2 2021, the company reported net sales revenue growth of 17.4% to $2.93 billion. Underlying net income increased 1.9% to $343 million or $1.58 per share. It benefited from improved brand and channel mix as well as positive net pricing in North America and Europe. Shares of Molson Coors are still trading in solid value territory relative to its industry peers.

Andrew Peller (TSX:ADW.A) is a Grimsby-based company that produces, bottles, and markets wine and craft beverage products in Canada. Its shares have dropped 16% in 2021. The stock has plunged sharply since the middle of June.

The company unveiled its first quarter fiscal 2022 results on August 4. Negative consumer purchasing patterns led to a sales decline of 6.1%. Fortunately, estate winery properties returned to full operation at the end of the quarter.

This wine stock boasts a very attractive P/E ratio of 5.8. It offers a quarterly dividend of $0.061 per share, which represents a 2.4% yield.
