Apple Unveils New iPhones And Watches At Launch Event

Consumer electronics giant Apple (AAPL) has unveiled several new versions of its iPhone and
Apple Watch while raising prices for the popular devices in key markets around the world.

At its annual fall launch event, Apple announced four different versions of the new iPhone 14
and three new editions of the Apple Watch. The company also introduced new AirPods and
announced satellite emergency service capability for its iPhone.

The new iPhone 14 goes on sale tomorrow (September 9). The new Apple Watches will be
available to order on September 14, and the new AirPods launch on September 23.

In America, the iPhone 14 Pro will cost $999 U.S., and the bigger model will cost $1,099 U.S.
That’s the same price as last year’s models.

However, Apple is raising prices in certain markets around the world, including the United
Kingdom, Japan, and Germany.

New features for the iPhone 14 include an always-on display, longer battery life, an A16 Bionic
processor chip, a 48-megapixel camera, improved low-light photography, and a completely
redesigned flash.

Apple also announced the capability to connect the iPhone 14 to satellites for emergency
services through a partnership with Globalstar (GSAT). The feature connects the iPhone 14′s
antenna directly to a satellite to send a message in areas that are not connected to a cell phone
tower.

Apple stock is down 14% this year at $155.96 U.S. per share.
