Regen BioPharma Soars 55% On Licensing Deal

Investors are buying up shares of Regen BioPharma Inc. (OTCQB:RGBP) following news this morning that the San Diego-based company struck a deal with its subsidiary CheckPoint Immunology Inc. for Regen’s NR2F6 technology. Per the agreement, CheckPoint has been granted an exclusive worldwide license to develop and commercialize the multi-purpose technology.

Regen created CheckPoint solely for the purpose of using the subsidiary as a vehicle for a future transaction with a larger pharma for development of NR2F6.

The small molecule initially has two possible development avenues. The first is an immunological approach to cancer acting through the inhibition of the NR2F6 checkpoint to unleash the body’s immune system to destroy cancer cells. The second involves stimulating NR2F6 for treating autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Elsewhere on the NR2F6 front, Regen has granted exclusive worldwide development rights for the intellectual property for non-human uses to Zander Therapeutics, Inc., a subsidiary of Entest BioMedical Inc. (OTCPK:ENTB). Regen’s chairman and CEO David Koos, serves the in the same positions at both Entest and Zander as well.

Shares closed on Wednesday at 5.4 cents and gapped ahead this morning on the news to 8.45 cents before running all the way to 9.9 cents. In early afternoon trading, shares are holding at 8.5 cents for a gain of 57.4%.
