Paramount In Talks To Bundle Streaming Services With Apple: Reports

According to multiple media reports, Paramount Global (PARA) is in talks with Apple (AAPL) about bundling their streaming services together in a new offering.

The Wall Street Journal newspaper was the first media outlet to report that talks are underway about adding Paramount’s film and television content to Apple TV.

According to the reports, the two companies are discussing combining Paramount+ and Apple TV+ into a streaming bundle that would be cheaper than subscribing to both services separately.

The combination of content from Paramount and Apple would be the latest upheaval in the streaming world following a strike by Hollywood actors and writers and subscription pricing changes announced in recent months.

Paramount Global owns popular film franchises such as Star Trek, Mission Impossible, and Transformers. Its TV shows include The Amazing Race and Criminal Minds.

Paramount Global’s stock is up 5% on reports of the talks with Apple. Year-to-date, the company’s share price has declined 16% to trade at $14.37 U.S. per share.

Apple’s stock is little changed on news of the discussions with Paramount. Its stock has risen 52% on the year and now trades at $189.95 U.S. a share.
