Weekly Movers: Alteryx, Rivian, PDD, Intel, and More

Markets have the appetite again to speculate. On Dec. 14, Alteryx (AYX), a data analytics firm with no moat in the space, was said to be in advanced talks to go private

A deal could find AYX stock sold for over $50 a share, or $5 billion for the company, according to Reuters. The stock closed at $48.04, leaving little upside from here.

When Tesla (TSLA) snapped back last week, Rivian (RIVN) followed. Shares gained 19.68% for the week. The firm struck a deal with AT&T (T) to supply electric vans and trucks. In a pilot program, it will supply commercial vans and R1 trucks. The telecom customer has a goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2025.

Chinese e-commerce firm PDD (PDD), which owns Temu, gained 5.78% last week and 29% in the month. Up an incredible 75.5% YTD, PDD skillfully offered inexpensive goods to the Chinese consumer and Western markets. In the severe economic slowdown in China, customers are thrifty. PDD is thriving.

Chip giant Intel (INTC) touched a 52-week high. It showed off its ecosystem at its AI event on Dec. 15.

Fintech play Sofi Technologies (SOFI) gained 15%. Despite closing its crypto business, markets are buying its shares.
