With three more trading days before the holidays next week, investors who missed the nearly two-month-old uptrend have a few stocks to watch.
Buy now, pay later is a service that will empower consumers to spend money they do not have. On Dec. 18, Affirm (AFRM) expanded its BNPL service to more than 4,5000 U.S. Walmart (WMT) stores. AFRM stock is up by over 140% since early November. Affirm’s SVP of Revenue, Pat Suh, said that over half (54%) of consumers want a BNPL option at the time of checkout. Over three-quarters of consumers would either put off the purchase or delay it without BNPL.
In tech, AI leader Nvidia (NVDA) pulled back again. It is making a third attempt to break out of the $500 “double top” resistance on the charts.
Google (GOOGL) agreed to pay $700 million and expand billing options at its Play Store. It settled on the antitrust lawsuits. It will pay $630 million in a fund for customers, while $70 million goes to a fund used by the U.S. states.
IT and consulting services firm Accenture (ACN) recovered from yesterday’s intra-day dip. The firm issued a revenue forecast below the $16.25 billion consensus estimate.
In the clean energy sector, Enphase Energy (ENPH) gained almost 9% yesterday. It will cut 350 staff and stop contract manufacturing operations at two locations. This will lower global capacity to 7.25 million microinverter units per quarter, down from 10 million.
