One of the best performing stocks listed on the NYSE MKT on Tuesday is Command Security Corp. (NYSE MKT:MOC), with a gain of over 12 percent shortly after the lunch hour in New York City. The Herndon, Virginia-based provider of uniformed security officers is rising on a new contract that is about three times the size of the company's market capitalization (even with the rise in value today).
Command Security said early Tuesday morning that it has been awarded an $80 million contract to provide security services to an unnamed "major on-line retailer." It was noted that the new contract was in addition to ongoing work being provided to the e-commerce company.
The contract is spread out over three years, equating to about $27 million annually in revenue for Command Security. Work is supposed to start next month at about 60 locations across the Northeast and Midwest. At $2.84 per share, the company is valued at approximately $27.9 million, according to data from QuoteMedia.
The contract is a nice addition to the books for MOC, who reported $42.7 million in revenue during the three months ended December 31, 2016.
At the opening bell, shares shot as high as $3.09 after closing Monday at $2.52, but have cooled off some at 1 PM ET, trending currently around $2.84 per share.
