Today’s 3 Rare Winning Stocks

In the retail sector, investors have two rare winning stocks to consider: Dick's Sporting Goods (DICK) and Abercrombie and Fitch (ANF).

The firm gained 15.9% yesterday and is poised to rise further. The firm dispelled worries that consumers ran out of money to buy discretionary items. The sports goods seller posted comparable sales rose by 5% Y/Y in the first quarter.

Dick’s gained market share at the expense of its competitors.

Abercrombie and Fitch added 24.3% on Thursday, closing at $189.45, an all-time high. The firm now has a market capitalization of $7.79 billion. It proved that it could outflank short-sellers, who hold a 9.91% short float. The small firm showed that it can out-maneuver bigger retail firms.

For Q2, A&F expects net sales to grow in the mid-teens percentage.

In the restaurant sector, Cava Group (CAVA) is a winner. The stock is on an uptrend that began late last year. In the first quarter, the firm posted a GAAP EPS of $0.12. Revenue grew by 27.5% Y/Y. Cava consistently beats analyst expectations. Its restaurants appeal to millennials. More importantly, it offers food that caters to the health-conscious customer.

Cava’s customers do not need obesity drugs from Novo Nordisk (NVO) or Eli Lilly (LLY). Instead, they may increase their spending at Cava restaurants.
